Greywick Manor was once a well-built wooden farmhouse, with two stories and a broad, covered porch. It is now fallen into disrepair, with paint faded from its aged dark-grey wooden panels, which have now fallen away in places. A small turret projects from the western side of the house, creating something of a third level, and Lord Greywick considers the now-empty window of this turret to be his 'front door', and the confines within his entry room. Any winged or climbing visitor would find this space to be nicely outfitted with a scrap of oriental rug, a wooden chair, and a small table housing an old brass watch and a potted orchid. An slightly rusted bell hangs from a cord beside a small door (set within a larger, boarded up door) that presumably leads into the manor proper.

A visitor who chose to bypass civility and let themselves in without ringing the bell would find that the small door opens upon an ancient spiral staircase, which leads down to a shady landing decorated with yet another scrap of rug and a faux silver pocketwatch affixed to the wall. If they were to proceed into the second-story room immediately across from the staircase, they would discover a classically appointed sitting room (with all furniture sized to the stature of a barn owl), containing several more watches amongst its decor, as well as a bookshelf and an owl-sized chess set. The walls still bear the faded remnants of wallpaper in a burgundy hue, patterned with a repeating fleur-de-lis motif. This room is dimly lit by day, due to the window having been boarded up at some time long past, allowing only a few streams of light to penetrate.

A smaller room (once a closet) to the side contains an owl-sized dresser and wardrobe, quite a few more timepieces (all kept wound, of course), and rather curiously, an owl-sized four-poster bed with a small but plush comforter and several fluffy-looking pillows.

Being a Most Civilzed Owl, Alastair is well aware that the owl's necessary habit of coughing up certain solid remnants of past meals is best done somewhere away from his living quarters, as these relics might disturb any guests who happened to be small rodents. And so, a second smaller room (once a secondary closet) contains a simple owl-sized washstand (crafted from a small bowl atop a wooden box) and washtub (crafted from another, larger bowl, set atop four bits of wood carved - or pecked- into taloned feet). Another box with a hole cut - or pecked- through the top is set upon yet another hole in the wooden floor planks. This appointment assures that somewhere on the undecorated first level, a pile of owl droppings can be found, mixed with the unfortunate artifacts of Lord Greywick's past meals. An explorer on the house's first level (off the -back- door, according to Alastair.) might notice that a door with peeling white paint has been marked PRIVATE in an attempt to avoid accidental discovery of this cache of bones, but as we all know, ramshackle old farmhouses contain many holes and passages through their walls. . .

Any visitor who happened to approach by the old, decrepit front porch would find a small door inset into the weathered planks of the wall, clearly marked "PRIVATE PROPERTY. NO SOLICITING, PLEASE." A small pullcord that passes through a knothole hangs beside it, likely attached to a bell within.
